A Note On ActiveX

ActiveX is a set of technologies from Microsoft that was originally designed to enable interactive content for the World Wide Web. In addition to web support, ActiveX can be easily integrated with a wide assortment of tools and programming language vendors, including Visual Basic, Perl, PerlScript, C++, C#, Java, and Java-enabled tools. It also facilitates compliance with industry standards, with built-in support for key industry and de-facto marketplace standards, including HTML, TCP/IP, Java, COM and others.

Note: It is possible that Activex Controls that are written for the 32-bit browser may not work in Internet Explorer 10 under Windows 8. If the AGI Globe/Map controls do not show up in Internet Explorer 10, please follow the steps in Microsoft Knowledge base article (KB 2716529, "32-bit browser applications may not work as expected in Internet Explorer 10") to enable this at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529.
