Automatic Sequences

Automatic Sequences are MCS elements that are structurally like Sequence segments, but are not MCS segments, properly. Rather, you can assign Automatic Sequences to Propagate and Maneuver (Finite) segments, and function as subroutines by running in response to specified stopping conditions of those segments.

To define or edit Automatic Sequences, open the Automatic Sequence Browser window by clicking the Automatic Sequence Browser button in the MCS toolbar.

Automatic Sequence Browser

The Automatic Sequence Browser contains a list of all Automatic Sequences defined for the Astrogator satellite. Each Automatic Sequence appears in the list with an identifying Name and User Comment field. Automatic Sequences with green Edit icons can be edited or removed; those with red Edit icons cannot.

To add a new, blank Automatic Sequence, click New. To create a copy of an existing Automatic Sequence, select it in the list and click Make Copy, or double-click it in the list. When you create a new or duplicate Automatic Sequence, you will be prompted to enter a Name and User Comment for it.

To remove an Automatic Sequence from the list, select it in the list and click Delete.

To edit the contents of an Automatic Sequence, select it in the list and click Edit... to open the Automatic Sequences Properties window. You can edit the Name or User Comment of an Automatic Sequence by clicking directly the desired field in the list.

Automatic Sequence Properties Window

The Automatic Sequence Properties window is a scaled-down version of the Mission Control Sequence window that provides the same toolbar buttons for inserting, removing, and editing MCS segments as are found on the MCS toolbar. You can also add a segment in an automatic sequence to the Component Browser. As in the Mission Control Sequence window, the segments of the Automatic Sequence display on the left, beneath the toolbar, and the properties of the currently selected segment display on the right. You can click Results... to add components to segments just as in the Mission Control Sequence window.

When you finish editing the Automatic Sequence, click OK to return to the Automatic Sequence Browser.
