Camera Control Toolbar

To use and edit a camera path, use the buttons on the Camera Control toolbar.

If the Keyframes property page is open, you must close it and then re-open it to view the changes made using the Camera Control toolbar buttons.

The Camera Control tool requires that the Selection option on the 3D Graphics Annotation property page be Enabled.

Opens the Camera Control. Use to create a path for the virtual camera to follow.
Adds a keyframe to an existing camera path or, if a camera path does not exist, creates a camera path and adds a keyframe to it.

You can add a keyframe before, along, or after a camera path. The Camera Control tools detects where you have added the keyframe and will add it to the appropriate spot in the Keyframes table at the appropriate sequential position by time.

Follows the current camera path while animating. The drop down list displays and allows the selection of available camera paths.
Enables free edit mode. This mode enables you to:
  • Move any keyframe or control point by clicking it and then dragging it to the desired location.

  •
  • Produce a sharper or softer curve by increasing or decreasing the tension of the curve at a particular keyframe. To change the tension at a keyframe, click an adjacent control point while holding the Shift key and drag it towards the keyframe to make the curve sharper or drag it away from the keyframe to make the curve softer.
Enables fixed edit mode. In this edit mode, you can move the selected keyframe or control point only. The selected point is treated as the To Object of the current 3D Window. Clicking and dragging the mouse rotates around the point. To move the point, click and drag while holding the Shift key. This edit mode is useful when the keyframe or control point of interest is obscured by other objects in the scene, or when careful manipulation of the position of the point is needed. This button is enabled only when a keyframe or control point is selected.
Sets the scenario time to the time of the selected keyframe, and sets the view in the current 3D Window to the view of the selected keyframe. This button is enabled only when a keyframe is selected.
