Properties for the 3D Graphics Window - Annotation

Use to control the display of informational text annotations in 3D Graphics and 3D Attitude Graphics windows.

Time

Show Time. Displays the current animation time and date.

Show Frames Per Second. Displays the number of frames per second during animation.

Show Time Step. Displays the time step used for animation.

Color. The text color of annotations.

Size. The text size for annotations.

X, Y. The X,Y location at which annotations display, where (X=0,Y=0) is the lower left corner of the 3D Graphics window.

Viewer Position

Show. If selected, displays information about the position (latitude, longitude, and altitude) from which the events occurring during animation are being viewed.

The Earth altitude is displayed in either the MSL or WGS84 shape, based on the setting of the scenario global attribute property Surface Reference of Earth Globes. All other central bodies display their altitude based on their ellipsoid, which is similar to WGS84.

Show Distance to Viewed Object. If selected, displays the distance to the viewed objects.

Color. The text color for annotations.

Size. The text size for annotations.

X, Y. The X,Y location at which the annotation should display, where (X=0,Y=0) is the lower left corner of the 3D Graphics window.

2D Map Display

Show Position as Marker. If selected, the current view from position is displayed in the 3D Graphics window projected onto the surface of the central body using the selected marker style to represent the position of the viewer on the Earth.

Style. To change the marker style, click the down arrow and select a style.

Data Display Area

Show. If selected, creates a static area in which you can display dynamic data that corresponds to the events in the 3D Graphics window. The data displayed in this window changes but the data area remains constant and is not affected by animation events.

Color. The background color for the data display area.

Size. The size of the area used to display data.

Location. The area of the 3D Graphics window used for data display.

Line Width. The width of the lines used to separate the data display area from the 3D Graphics display.

Data Display options for an object are set in its 3D Graphics properties window.

View Reference Frame

Show. Displays information about the currently selected viewer reference frame in the 3D Graphics window. The viewer coordinate frame is selected using the Reference Frame option in the View From Position and To Direction window.

Color. The text color of annotations.

Size. The text size for annotations.

X, Y. The X,Y location at which annotations should display, where (X=0,Y=0) is defined as the lower left corner of the 3D Graphics window.

Text

Add. Click this button to define the display of textual data in the 3D window. You can control the position, color and size of the data displayed. Once you configure the annotation, it appears in the grid. You can use the More button in the grid to edit the data display.

Remove. Select an annotation and click this button to remove it from the 3D display.

Selection

Use to display an object label or information about any point in the 3D Graphics window by double-clicking it with your mouse.

Enable. If selected, you can double-click a point in a 3D Graphics window to display information. When double-clicking visualized terrain, the Earth altitude is displayed in either the MSL or WGS84 reference, based on the setting of the scenario global attribute property Surface Reference of Earth Globes. All other central bodies display their altitude based on their ellipsoid, which is similar to WGS84.

Altitude is displayed only if there is visualized terrain.

The Camera Control tool and the 3D Object Editor require that the Enable option be selected.

Drill Picking. Enables you to drill-down to objects that are covered by other objects in the 3D Graphics window. For example, if facility1 covers facility2 and facility2 covers facility3, the first double-click selects facility1, the second selects facility2, and the third selects facility3. The fourth double-click returns you to facility1.

Show at Selected Position. Displays information about a selected area or object at the position of the mouse click in a 3D window.

Show at X,Y Position. Displays information about a selected area or object at the specified X,Y position.

X, Y. Specify the X,Y location at which the annotation should display, where (X=0,Y=0) is defined as the lower left corner of the 3D Graphics window.

Compass

Show. Toggles the display of the 3D compass.

X, Y Origin and Position. Specify the X, Y location where the compass should display.

Radius. Defines the size of the compass on the 3D window.

Use Magnetic North Pole. When selected the compass points to the magnetic north pole rather than the true north pole. Only works when the central body is Earth.
