Description

This command is valid for Satellite, Missile & Launch Vehicle.

The following table describes the options available for setting vehicle radiation parameters.

{RadOptions} Description
ApSource {StaticValue | UseFluxFile} Specify the manner in which the Ap (geomagnetic flux index) is obtained.
Ap <Value> When ApSource is StaticValue, enter a <Value> between 0.0 and 400.0 for Ap.
FluxFile "<Filepath>" When ApSource is UseFluxFile, enter the name of the flux file.
CompMode {APEXRAD | CRRESRAD | NASA | CRRES | RadOnly} Enter the Radiation model to use for computations.
DoseChannel {Total | LowLET | HighLET} Enter the dose channel value.
DoseIntegrationStep <Step> Specifies the time step for sampling (of dose rate from raditation-dose databases, or of fluence versus energy from the flux-model databases) that goes into dose computations.
DoseReportStep <Step> Specify the default time step used by data providers reporting radiation-dose output. When graphing or reporting from the Report & Graph Manager Page, this value can be overridden by specifying Step Size under Time Properties.
UseNuclearAttenuation {Yes | No} Specify the use of nuclear attenuation.
IncludeNucAttenNeutrons {Yes | No} Specify the inclusion of neutrons in the nuclear attenuation model.
DetectorGeometry {SemiInfiniteSlab | FiniteSlab | Spherical} Models the geometry of the detector.
DetectorType {Detector} Enter the material of the detector.

Valid values for {Detector} are Aluminum, Graphite, Silicon, Air, Bone, Calcium, Gallium, Lithium, SiliconDioxide, Tissue, Water

CRRESRAD, APEXRAD, and Radonly computational modes only support Silicon.

ClearThicknesses Remove all shielding thickness values. However, since at least one must be specified, it is expected that an AddThickness option will follow this option in the connect command.
AddThickness <Value> Enter a <Value> (in Mils) to add a specific shielding thickness.
RemoveThickness <Value> Enter the shielding thickness value (in Mils); the thickness will be removed, if present.
UseModelEpoch {Yes | No} Enter Yes to set the magnetic field to use the model's reference epoch.
ShiftSAA {Yes | No} Enter Yes to shift the SAA accordingly, when UseModelEpoch is set to Yes.

Note: ClearThicknesses, AddThickness and RemoveThickness options are only valid if CompMode is CRRES or NASA, as the other modes have fixed shielding thickness lists.

The following table describes the shielding thickness values based on computational mode.

CompMode Shielding Thickness
APEXRAD 4.29 Mils, 82.5 Mils, 232.5 Mils, 457.5 Mils
CRRESRAD 82.5 Mils, 232.5 Mils, 457.5 Mils, 886.5 Mils
CRRES User defined
NASA User defined
RadOnly 82.5 Mils, 232.5 Mils, 457.5 Mils
