Communication Component Browser

The Component Browser, which is available from the Utilities menu, is a tool for managing and storing reusable STK Communications components. You can use these components to define an Antenna, Receiver, or Transmitter object, or a Scenario object's RF properties. STK Communications components that are managed by the Component Browser are:

  • After an STK Communications component has been applied to, or embedded in, an STK object (Receiver, Antenna, Transmitter, or Scenario), any additional changes made to the component will not be applied to the STK object. To apply these changes, you must reselect the component for each object that embeds that component in its definition.
  • Any component that you create or modify is saved at the scenario level.

Link Manager

The Link Manager information can be found on the overall Component Browser help page.

Reference Type

In the Component Browser for Communications, you can select a Reference Type of Link or Embed. This option allows you to either link to a Comm Object already built, or to embed a new one. For more information on Linking and Embedding Components, see how to Embed or Link. You can also Link () and Unlink () directly in the Comm object's properties.

Save as New Component

If you have configured your Comm object and would like to save that configuration, click the Save as New Component () button. Now your saved configuration can be found as a new Component within the Component Browser or saved to the STK Data Federate.
