Whether you are new to using the STK application or you are already an expert, the STK software comes with a variety of self-paced tutorials to advance your skills. Installing the correct software and licenses

To complete these tutorials, you will need the correct STK capabilities and licenses installed on your machine. Each tutorial lists thee required capability install(s) and license(s) to complete it.

You can download the required software from the Software Downloads page. If you have trouble installing the STK software, follow our helpful instructional guide on Installing STK.

You can launch the License Viewer to determine which product licenses are installed on your system. Extend the Help menu in the STK software and select License Viewer. Your available licenses will be listed in the viewer, and you will know if you have the correct licenses required to complete the lesson. You can find more information on the License Viewer and installed product licenses on the License Viewer Help page. If you require a license, you can download an evaluation license from https://licensing.agi.com/stk/. If you are unable to download a license or have further questions, contact customer support at www.agi.com/support.

Level 1 - Beginner

The Level 1 - Beginner tutorials are designed to teach you the fundamentals of the STK application and get you started using the software.

Once you have completed Fundamentals training, you will be ready to take the free Level 1 - STK Certification test. Visit www.agi.com/training-and-certification#cert/. Upon registration for the STK Certification, you will receive an email confirmation with an attachment for a 14-day demo license. This license provides you access to all the capabilities needed to complete the certification.

Optional third-party programs

Several of the tutorials use MATLAB, Python, and/or Excel. While not required to complete the tutorials, these programs are very useful to have when using the STK application. If you do not have these programs, you can open example files in a text editor to view the syntax.

Once you have completed Comprehensive training (the Level 1 - Beginner and Level 2 - Advanced tutorials) and are Level 2 - STK Master Certified, you will be ready to take the Level 3 - STK Grand Master Certification test. Visit www.agi.com/training-and-certification#cert (free for U.S. and Canada). The STK Grand Master Certification contains seven individual tracks that cover the STK software's specialized capabilities, focusing on different application areas. Each track has a unique set of recommended tutorials with five quiz questions per tutorial. Upon registration for a STK Grand Master Certification track, you will receive an email confirmation with an attachment for a 14-day demo license. This license provides you access to all the capabilities needed to complete the track. You have 14 days from registration date to complete each track. Tracks can be completed in any order. Once you pass four or more tracks, you will become an STK Grand Master.

The STK Programming Interface offers a wide variety of options to automate and customize the STK software and to integrate its technology into other applications. Additional options let you extend the STK software using plugins, interface to the STK application externally through COM and scripting interfaces, and develop custom applications.

Once you are Level 1 - STK Certified and have completed Comprehensive training (the Level 1 - Beginner and Level 2 - Advanced tutorials), you will be well prepared to integrate and automate STK and to take the Level 2 - STK Master Integration Certification test. Tutorial Description
Using Java API from MATLAB to Start up and Control STK This tutorial demonstrates how to use Java API from within MATLAB to start up and control STK. This tutorial is written for Windows, but can be used for Linux with the only these differences: paths are slightly different and some desktop-specific UI jar files are not available.
Using MATLAB for STK Automation (PDF) This tutorial will enable you to write a script in MATLAB using both Connect and the Object Model to automate the following functions: create and populate a scenario, add terrain and imagery, generate random targets in an automated fashion, point a sensor at the random targets based on a minimum range, compute chain access, and view the mission.
STK Object Model Tutorial This tutorial demonstrates how to build six different application types using four different programming languages (C#, Java, MATLAB, and Python) while covering all major parts of the STK Objects Model (STK OM).
STK Tutorial Using the Object Model (PDF) This tutorial is the object model equivalent to the STK GUI Tutorial. The source code (given in C# and Visual Basic.NET) for this tutorial is available in the file: ObjectModelTutorial.txt.

TETK

The STK's software's Test and Evaluation Tool Kit (TETK) capability consists of several tools to support test event design, execution, and post-test analysis. These tutorials are designed to take you through the skills that are fundamental to using the TETK capability and its features.

Once you have completed STK Fundamentals training, are Level 1 - STK Certified, and have completed training on the TETK capability, you will be well prepared to take the Level 1 - TETK Certification test. The TETK Certification test will prove your skill at using the TETK capability to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of test and evaluation (T&E) activities.

Upon registration for the TETK Certification, you will receive an email confirmation with an attachment for a 14-day demo license. This license provides you access to all the capabilities needed to complete the certification.
