RT3 Extension
The RT3 Extension is an off-the-shelf solution for displaying and analyzing live and simulated data feeds in STK and STK Viewer; its user interface has the same appearance in both applications. A Premium or Enterprise license is required to use the RT3 Extension.
Using the RT3 Extension
The RT3 Extension's user interface is comprised of five components - the Display Manager, the Event Manager, the Event Log, the Output tool, and the Display Settings tool - that allow you to select data sources, refine output by utilizing queries, and monitor data by establishing events. You can access each of the components from the RT3 menu.
- Display Manager - to open the Display Manager, select Display Manager.
- Event Manager - to open the Event Manager, select Event Manager.
- Event Log - to open the Event Log, select Event Log.
- Output - to open the Output tool, select Output.
- Display Settings - to open the Display Settings tool, select Display Settings.
Visualizing Real-Time Data
Before you can visualize real-time data in the 2D or 3D Graphics windows, you must set the animation mode of the scenario to "Real-Time" or "X Real-Time" mode, either by selecting the mode on the Animation properties page of the scenario, or by clicking Real-Time () or X Real-Time (
) on the Animation toolbar.
When visualizing data with RT3, it is important that the STK animation time matches the time-stamp of the incoming data feed. If you are viewing live data, this is most easily accomplished by verifying that your system time is accurate and that you are running STK in Real-Time animation mode. If you are unsure if your system time and the feed time are properly synchronized, the easiest way to verify them is to use the Get Info Tool to look at the entity time-stamp and verify that it is close to your scenario animation time.
RT3 File Extensions
RT3 objects are saved to files with unique file extensions to make it easier to distinguish their nature. The primary file extensions used by RT3 are listed below.
- RT3 Extension files (application level) - .rt3
