3D Graphics Toolbars

The 3D Graphics toolbars provides easy access to:

  • Viewpoint controls
  • Mouse controls
  • Camera Control
  • Terrain detail controls

3D Graphics Toolbar

The 3D Graphics toolbar provides easy access to the most frequently used options and tools used to control the graphical display of your scenario in the 3D visualization windows (3D Attitude Graphics and 3D Graphics).

Button
Function
Enables the Grease Pencil.
Enables the flashlight.
Measures the distance between any two points in the 3D Graphics window. Make sure the STK message viewer and/or the Status Bar are visible in the workspace. Click this button, then click and drag the mouse between the two points that you want to measure. When you release the mouse button, the shortest distance between the two points and the azimuth bearing display in the Status Bar and the Message Viewer.
Opens the View From To window. Use to place the selected object in the center of the 3D Graphics window. Also useful for locating hard-to-find objects.
Displays the home view (default view). Also called the panic button because it enables you to return to the home view if you are lost.
Changes the viewer direction so that you are looking at the object from South to North.
Changes the viewer direction so that you are looking at the object from above.
Opens the Set Wingman View window, which allows you to model a wingman's view from one aircraft object to another.
Enables you to add, modify, and delete 3D views from the stored view list. You can also select the 3D view to display.
Displays the previous view from the stored view list.
Displays the next view from the stored view list.
Opens the Classic View Path Editor. Use to maintain view paths created using an earlier version of STK. Starting with STK 6.0, the Camera Control tool replaces the View Path Editor for creating view paths (now called camera paths).
Decreases the mouse rotation speed for finer viewpoint control.
Increases the mouse rotation speed for coarser viewpoint control.
Resets the mouse rotation speed.
Opens the View Pilot tool. Use to select the area that you want to view, position your view, and define how objects are treated when they obstruct the path of the viewer.
Displays the next defined reference frame for the view from the object.
Toggle between screen axes mode and reference axes mode when working with keyboard constrained rotation.

Separates the labels on objects that are in close proximity for better identification in small areas.

The Add Current View Step button has been removed from the 3D Graphics toolbar. To access this button, select Toolbars->Customize from the View menu. From the Command tab, select 3D Graphics Customize and then drag to any toolbar.

Globe Details Toolbar

The Globe Details toolbar provides easy access to tools that control the level of terrain detail in the 3D Graphics window.

Button Function
Use to decrease globe texture detail to improve performance.
Use to increase globe texture detail.
Use to decrease terrain detail to improve performance.
Use to increase terrain detail. One-pixel tolerance is the default.
