Creating/Editing a Task
Creating a New Task
To define a new task, open the Task Definition Form. This is done by either selecting Task -> Task Editor from the Menu Bar or by clicking the button on the Tool Bar.
When a new task is being created the controls of the Task Definition Form will either be blank or will be filled with default data.
All task attributes will be retained when the Update button on the bottom of the Task Definition Form is clicked. All attributes are ignored if you click the Cancel button.
Editing an Existing Task
To edit an existing task, select Task -> Task Editor from the Menu Bar. If no task is currently selected, this action will bring up a form that contains a list of all the tasks that have been defined. Select the task you wish to edit by clicking on it, and then click the Edit button to open the Task Definition Form. If a task is currently selected, selecting Edit from the Task menu will open the task definition form for the selected task. Alternatively, you may right-click on the task in either the Task List/Gantt Chart of the Graphical View or on the Table View and then select Edit from the pop-up menu that will appear.
When an existing task is edited, the controls of the Task Definition form will contain data corresponding to the attributes of that task.
All task attributes will be retained when the Update button on the bottom of the Task Definition Form is clicked. All attributes are ignored if you click the Cancel button.
Editing an Existing Task via the Gantt
When a task is locked, you may manually make changes to the Task via the gantt. A locked task assignment is indicated by a solid blue rectangle on the gantt. There are a couple of different ways a task may be manually edited via the gantt. You may drag the start or end of an assignment changing the assigned duration or you can drag and drop the entire assignment and move the assignment to a new timeslot.
